There are days we wake up with a heavy heart; mornings that feel like a punch in the gut. On days like these, I want to remind you that it’s okay. On days it’s hard to get out of bed in the morning, I hope you remember the things you love, I hope you remember the things you draw your strength from.
Remember the little things. Like the way your coffee tastes in the morning. The familiar burst of flavor hitting the right spots. Or the way your cat stares at you as you dance like a dork in your room at midnight because you just feel like moving your body. I hope you remember the last meal you shared with your friends, the one where you all shared hearty laughter and random conversation about everything and nothing at all. I hope you remember that one lazy afternoon where you spent rewatching your favorite show on Netflix for the 87th time.
Remember the big things. Like the way you continuously try to cross the gap between the art you wanna create and the art you’re creating now, even though there are days when that gap is a gaping hole that swallows you whole. I hope you remember all the people in your life who inspire you, support you, and love you so much you sometimes question if it’s all real. Remember all the ways you picked yourself back up after every closed door, failures, and disappointments. Remember that a bad day does not mean a bad life.
I hope you remember the countless mornings like this you had before and how you got up anyway because you embrace your humanness. You know you have moments that feel so heavy and impossible.
Most importantly, I hope with all my heart that you remember, the only way it gets better is if you throw the blinds open and let the light in.
