The ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we're doing, and not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what's going on around us is known as mindfulness. While mindfulness is something we all have, it is made more accessible to us when we practice it on a regular basis.
I first heard about mindfulness when I decided to dwell on my spiritual being. I always thought that mindfulness equates to meditation and I have a love-hate relationship with meditation. However, I discovered that it is more than what meets the eye.
You can be mindful in whatever you do because mindfulness means being present—it means living the moment you’re in. And in a world where bad news from the internet is what you eat for breakfast, you need a break, a breather. Mindfulness can be practiced while you’re cleaning your room, walking, reading a book, or even when you’re talking to someone. All you gotta do is focus on your breathing, feel your surroundings, and soak in the moment!
Improved concentration, stress reduction, efficient communication, and overall wellness are all benefits of mindfulness activities. People who practice mindfulness are said to become more energetic, clear, imaginative, and less resistant to change. It allows them to take a breather and consider their options.
Have you practiced mindfulness yet? Tell us how it went in the comment section below!
